Beyond the Screen: Revolutionizing the Future of Work

I am the text that will be copied.

Global Availability

With the arrival of trans-continental flights, CEOs could now travel from one location to another to oversee their firm’s operations in various regions.  Over the past few decades, the Internet has bridged the need for physical presence for executive actions to be taken. But, in situations where a physical visit was necessary, being present on-site was still a necessity.

However, with technology, an executive can take an entire round of a factory in a virtual space and take action without even being physically present. This ushers in a new era of global availability wherein individuals do not need to be present at a particular place for them to be able to make important, on-ground decisions.

Remote Work

The arrival of the pandemic forced companies to mold their work culture to accommodate remote work. While some have shifted back to their pre-pandemic routines, many have stuck to remote-first methods of working. The dilemma of this, however, is that employees tend to feel disconnected from each other as most interactions take place behind screens.

Companies have now started integrating virtual spaces, which employees can then join to cooperate with each other on various projects. This has allowed for teams to work together in new ways, bridging the gap between remote work and in-person collaboration.

Reduced Training Costs

In technical fields, training employees can turn into a logistical nightmare. For instance, surgeons need to sit through and observe multiple operations before they are able to operate on a patient themselves. Even when they do, the risk factor, relative to an experienced surgeon, can be quite high.

However, VR and AR allow medical practitioners to create specific high-risk scenarios, ensuring surgeons train in an environment wherein they cannot cause harm to an actual patient. The same formula can therefore be used for other skilled professions, such as training environments for soldiers, the police, first-aid responders, engineers, and more.

Moreover, instead of flicking through hundreds of pages of manuals to learn how to operate certain apparatus, new technologies can be used to enable faster learning for those involved, allowing them to quickly assimilate and operate equipment. So, instead of resorting to conventional methods of learning, which can be time-consuming and not very effective, companies can impart skills in a more practical, immersive manner.

These advances have the profound ability to completely transform the modern work environment as we see it. With increasing adoption by various brands and companies, the ever-changing online world is poised to leave a significant impact on every aspect of our society.
